Taso Milonas is a Florida Bar Board Certified Tax Lawyer, a designation he has maintained continuously since first being certified in 1992. Currently, less than 1% of all attorneys admitted to practice in Florida are board certified.
Taso received his LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation from the University of Florida College of Law in 1985 and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1984. Taso is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court and all state courts in Florida.
Taso has consistently received the Martindale-Hubbell AV® peer review rating (highest possible). He currently serves on the Directors Committee of the Florida Bar Tax Section and as Assistant Director of its Federal Tax Division. He has served on the Tax Section for more than a decade in various capacities, including vice-chair of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee for many years. He is also a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association. Taso has published numerous articles and is a frequent lecturer before professional and other groups on taxes, estate planning, business succession planning and insurance. Taso has been recognized in Florida Super Lawyers and and Who's Who in American Law.
Before moving to Sarasota, Taso practiced law with Holland & Knight, currently one of the largest law firms in the United States, and Trenam, Simmons, Kemker, Scharf, Barkin, Frye & O'Neill, a nationally prominent tax law firm.
Taso has been married for 25 years and has 3 daughters. He was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, the son of first generation Greek-Americans. He attended Jesuit High School and The University of Tampa, graduating with Honors from both.
