S. Travis Bartee

Mr. Bartee is a Member of the law firm of Dick Riggs Miller, LLP, in Huntsville, Alabama. He is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Tennessee and Texas. Mr. Bartee’s practice focuses on asset protection, estate planning, tax and corporate law. He assists clients in the preparation of complex asset protection trusts, complex estate plans, wills, and trust agreements. He has experience in negotiating and drafting prenuptial and postnuptial agreements as well as employment agreements, buy-sell agreements, and employee handbooks. Mr. Bartee discusses options with his clients to accomplish their goals through tax strategies involving domestic asset protection, investments, co-ownerships of property, life insurance, trusts and charitable giving, among other approaches.

In addition, Mr. Bartee assists both individual and corporate clients in structuring transactions to ensure the most beneficial tax treatment under current law. He has experience in forming, dissolving, and advising general partnerships, family limited partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies and S corporations.

He is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, located in Birmingham, Alabama, with a Juris Doctor and a graduate of Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law, located in Dallas Texas, with a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM). Mr. Bartee’s undergraduate degree is from The University of Alabama.

Mr. Bartee serves on the Board of Directors with The University of Alabama Federal Tax Clinic. He is the 2010 President for Financial and Estate Planning Council of Huntsville, the past President of the North Alabama Chapter of Society of Financial Service Professionals, and sits on the Board for the YMCA/Huntsville Child Care Center. He previously sat on the Board of Trustees of Mercy MedicalCenter, was an officer of the Mobile Estate Planning council.
