Peter Edward Johnson

Pete Johnson has experience representing a wide variety of businesses and industries ranging from small local companies to some of the country's largest publicly traded corporations. Johnson has represented clients before numerous regulatory boards and more than thirty different courts including the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He has served as lead counsel successfully advising clients with regard to matters such as the acquisition of a chain of gas stations and convenience stores; the acquisition of three downtown office high rises; the acquisition of an existing hotel, hotel sites, and the development of two new hotels; the development of two residential neighborhoods; and the development of two mixed use predominantly retail projects.

Before joining the Scenic City Legal Group, Johnson was the General Counsel for a real estate development and commercial general construction company. Johnson has previously practiced with law firms, including an AmLaw100 firm, in Georgia and Tennessee primarily in the areas of general corporate transactions, government representation, construction, and real estate law. Johnson has held a variety of public offices including serving as Assistant District Attorney, City Solicitor, and Magistrate. He has been active on the boards of several non-profits, including an art museum and a crime prevention organization; and has donated legal services to a number of other charities, and ministries. Johnson has taught courses on legal writing, research and drafting at an undergraduate collegiate level.
