Marla Klaas practices estate planning, wealth planning and trust administration by working collaboratively with other attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, bankers, insurance specialists, trust officers and real estate specialists to design techniques to achieve a wide variety of tax and personal objectives that reflect the client's values.

Additionally, Mrs. Klaas handles trust litigation involving disputes over inheritance, and breaches by individual trustees in the administration and management of investments. She also defends corporate trustees against claims of breach of fiduciary duty and provides other banking defense litigation services.

Positions:

Prior to opening her own law office, Mrs. Klaas served as Regional Trust Manager for Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., overseeing all San Diego based trust administration. A primary function of her role was to ensure that the bank’s trust administration complied with bank policies and procedures as well as federal and state law in order to ensure sound trust administration and mitigate the risk of fiduciary breaches. Mrs. Klaas also assisted families with their comprehensive estate and wealth plans (design, creation and administration).

Mrs. Klaas is admitted to practice law in California and Florida. She received her law degree, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University, graduating in the top 10% of her class and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in English, from the University of Florida.

Mrs. Klaas is a member of the California Bar, the San Diego County Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Section, and the Florida Bar Association. She also serves as Vice President of TriFoundation, a public charity providing research funding and patient education for thyroid related diseases.
