Holly M. Parker is an experienced litigation attorney with a varied legal background from experiences working in-house for an insurance company and as an associate attorney for prominent law firms in downtown Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.
Ms. Parker is an experienced litigation attorney, admitted to practice law in California in December of 1998. She earned her law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in 1998, where she served on the Joseph Scott Moot Court Honors Board and competed as a member of the Traynor Moot Court Team. She worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Valerie Baker, Los Angeles County Superior Court (Central District) and as a Certified Law Clerk for the Inglewood District Attorney's Office. She also worked as a staff member at Loyola's Conflict Resolution Center, a legal intern for Warner/Chappell Music, Inc., and the Speakers Chair for the Student Bar Association.
Before entering law school, Ms. Parker obtained her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), in 1993. She was selected to participate in the Quarter in Washington Program, where she studied and worked as a legal intern for the United States Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Employment Litigation Section, in Washington, D.C. Ms. Parker also served as a volunteer victim advocate for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, Domestic Violence Unit.
Since being admitted to the California Bar in 1998, Ms. Parker has focused her practice on civil litigation, with an emphasis on general liability defense. She began her legal career as in-house counsel for the California surety division of a New York-based insurance company. Her practice has increasingly involved the legal representation and counseling of retail businesses, restaurants and national corporations. She has effectively initiated, defended and managed litigation for personal injury actions, property damage claims and contractual disputes. Ms. Parker has also assisted her business clients in California with regulatory and compliance matters relating to Cal-OSHA, Proposition 65, and Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures.
Ms. Parker continues to practice law in Los Angeles County. She is also a notary public, certified loan signing specialist, and member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and Black Women Lawyers of Los Angeles, Inc.
