Brian Ballo is an experienced transactional business and real estate attorney. He acts as part-time General Counsel to California businesses, typically with $3M or more in annual revenues, providing practical legal and business solutions. Mr. Ballo delivers superior legal services by performing work at a client company’s offices, 2-4 days per week, for a negotiated flat fee.

Currently, he is part-time General Counsel to PFS Financial Corp. www.pfsservicing.com, which is involved in the management, servicing and marketing of residential and commercial bulk REO properties. At PFS, Mr. Ballo is involved in handling mortgage asset management legal matters, including default loan sub-servicing, REO portfolio management and due diligence related to the purchase and sale of REO pools.

During 2001-2006, he was General Counsel and Managing Director at Marino Capital Partners, Inc., www.marinocapital.com, formerly NetCap Ventures, Inc., an investment banking firm and SEC licensed broker-dealer in Newport Beach, CA. As an attorney, he focused on SEC and NASD legal and regulatory compliance matters. As Managing Director, he was active in raising capital in $1-$10 million private placements, as well as handling mergers and acquisitions transactions.

In 2003, he was General Counsel with RoboDocs www.robodocs.com, a loan document preparation firm in Newport Beach, CA, where he prepared loan documents on $1M-$10M loans for multi-family and commercial lenders, including Washington Mutual, Imperial Capital, Downey Savings, Greenpoint Mortgage and IMPAC.

Prior to specializing in capital market transactions in Orange County, Mr. Ballo was a corporate and real estate attorney for 5 years at Kolodny & Pressman, a mid-sized law firm in San Diego.

Mr. Ballo received a B.G.S. degree from the University of Michigan (1978); his J.D. from California Western School of Law (1986) where he was Lead Articles Editor of the Law Review; and an LL.M. in Tax from the University of San Diego School of Law (1990). He is a member of the California (active) and Colorado (inactive) Bars, and holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses, as well as a California real estate broker license.
