Vera Bergermann graduated with High Honors and Distinction from University of Michigan at the age of 19 with a degree in psychology from the Honors Program of the College of Literature, Science and Arts. After spending time in graduate school in psychology, she entered law school and begin practicing law full-time (under a special rule for law students) at the age of 21 years. She became a member of the IL Bar in 1980 and went on to practice in the area of contracts for ITT, Northern Telecom, and UNISYS before earning a Master of Science in Taxation from the Widener Univ. School of Business and forming her own tax practice. Following a move to Florida, she worked for General Electric in the area of import management and earned the designation of licensed National Customs Broker. Subsequent to her admission to the Florida Bar in 1994, Vera became a Florida Supreme Court-certified family law mediator. After practicing family law almost exclusively since 1997, she became qualified in 2009 to serve as a Parenting Coordinator in family law cases. She extends her practice now to reach the many families troubled by home foreclosure.
