Laurel D. Johnson received her Juris Doctor in Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with a major concentration in Economics from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She interned with the Florida Supreme Court and served as an Articles Editor for the FSU Law Review.

As a Senior Attorney for the Florida House of Representatives, House Finance & Tax Committee, and Legislative Analyst for the House Financial Institutions SubCommittee, she worked directly on state tax issues. As a civil trial attorney, she worked to protect her clients' interests. Laurel served as Chief Counsel of Child Support Enforcement, Chief of Public Assistance Policy and administered a full spectrum of social services programs for children and families for the State of Florida. As a Financial Advisor and Trust Officer, she helped individuals invest, plan and care for their future generations. As a statewide Manager of Investment Delivery, she trained staff to focus on finding solutions based on client needs.

Since 2004, Laurel has successfully managed a boutique legal practice focused on estate planning, wills, trusts and probate in which she has been able to leverage her broad ranging interests and experiences to benefit her clients' unique and personal estate planning issues. She has crafted complex estate plans for multi-millionaires, and she has helped many recent widows grapple with their new circumstances.
